Without ever compromising your privacy, TPF anonymously tracks which feeds are most popular with users like you! We use this information to ensure that we are consistently delivering the highest quality news and information from the sources that your prefer. For example, if news outlet A and news outlet B both publish articles about topic X and TPF users view the news article from outlet A more than a similar article from outlet B, we will feature story X from company A more prominently. More than that, we will start featuring all news stories from company A in a better position. You, the average TPF user, continuously help to make our stream of news articles the highest quality.
There are multiple ways to suggest improvements to TPF or let us know about bugs that might occur on the site. If you prefer, you can email us at issues@thepeoplesfeed.com. You can also visit our Redmine installation to report a bug. Redmine is a bug tracking system. This is a good way to join in on the conversation and see which issues are slated to be fixed. Finally, TPF has an active Google group we use to discuss development issues and new features.
TPF does its best to show only the highest quality news as determined by consumers like you. Sometimes, our algorithms can't take us far enough. Editors help take TPF to the next level by categorizing and adjusting the rating for particular pieces of content. Content editors must be fair and give incredible attention to detail. As with many other things, we plan on making the finances of TPF as 'open' as our 'open' source code. We have not yet come across the free time to make this information available without exposing ourselves to risk.
